Embracing the Unknown

This post isn't about a particular project that I've done, but about a skill I've started to explore and practice. Last summer I started taking an improv class. I didn't quite know what to expect but I wanted to step outside my comfort zone and it seemed like a fun opportunity. I was surprised to find that, while it was scary and at times uncomfortable, I had an absolute blast.
A classmate, and all around wonderful person, reached out to me about an opportunity to perform in an improv murder-mystery dinner performance. I went to school to study math and spent my free time playing board games. I never expected I'd find myself auditioning to be an actor, but It was a wild experience and absolutely crushed my goal of stepping outside my comfort zone. The people I've met and the moments I've gotten to experience from improv has been an absolute boon in the pandemic.
I'm still taking classes and performing. I don't see myself stopping anytime soon. I was interviewed by the theater I take classes. The interview was recently cut together and after watching it, it sunk in how much I'd really gotten out of learning something entirely new.
I have a couple of 3d printing project posts coming up but I've uploaded some images to the gallery as a preview.
